Standout reviews
And if we drill down to look at individual reviews, here are the ones that stood out to us, giving detailed accounts of the patient's experiences:
Sandra A's review (★★★★★): "I suffer from spondylitis and sometimes need a short-term painkiller. I find Nurofen Plus very effective."
Fiona H's review (★★★★★): "I use these as a last resort when paracetamol and ibuprofen alone don’t reduce pain to manageable levels. Day 2 and I was back in the garden, happily with pain reduced to a tolerable ache."
Review by Anonymous (★★★★★): "I only use these occasionally for sciatica (as only for short-term use), but they are very effective in lessening the pain and discomfort enabling me to get a good night's sleep."
Sandra A's second review (★★★★★): "I co-codamol 8/500 prescribed but when I had a toothache It wasn't strong enough for the pain and needed a higher dose of codeine without so much paracetamol. Btw ibuprofen works better than paracetamol for me."
Anne N's review (★★★★★): "Incredibly important to deal with horrendous period pains. I have PCOS and really struggle each month. This is the only pain relief that touches it."
These reviews highlight Nurofen Plus's effectiveness for a variety of pain conditions, the speed of relief it provides, and its usefulness as a last resort when other painkillers fail to work. They also underscore the value of Nurofen Plus for individuals dealing with chronic conditions.
The product also scores high on the average rating, 4.85 out of 5 stars. No review scored lower than 4 starts.
Nurofen Plus FAQ
We sat down with our Superintendent Pharmacist, Alessandro Grenci, to discuss some of the most common questions associated with taking Nurofen Plus.
When should I consider taking Nurofen Plus?
I always recommend trying paracetamol or ibuprofen as a first instance of pain relief or managing infection symptoms. Of course, assuming that the patient is not allergic to any of these substances. Because it is only recommended to be used for a maximum of three days Nurofen Plus should only be used in cases when other pain management medication is not enough. Typical cases when it can be used are migraines, headaches, neuralgia, and various forms of pain such as dental, back, rheumatic and muscular.
How do I know if I am addicted to Nurofen Plus?
Under usual circumstances, adhering to the instructions on the pack should not lead to addiction. If you find the need to take the medicine for prolonged periods or more than the recommended dose, these could be potential signs of addiction. Similarly, feeling unwell when you stop the medicine, but better once you resume it, should prompt you to seek medical advice.
What does it mean that Nurofen Plus could potentially mask infection symptoms?
Nurofen Plus could potentially mask infection symptoms like fever and pain, which could inadvertently delay the timely treatment of an infection. This risk is especially seen in instances of bacterial pneumonia and skin infections following chickenpox. I always suggest that if one continues to experience persistent or worsening infection symptoms while on this medication, they should seek immediate medical attention.
What are the active substances in Nurofen Plus?
Nurofen Plus with Ibuprofen & Codeine serves as a potent remedy for various aches and pains. Belonging to the category of opioid analgesics, these tablets come with an impactful dual-action formula. One of the constituents, ibuprofen, is recognized for its non-steroidal anti-inflammatory properties, providing an efficient response to pain and swelling. The other active ingredient, codeine, amplifies the pain relief effect by modifying the body's perception of pain. This potent combination is designed to manage and ease various aches, rendering Nurofen Plus Tablets a choice worth considering for those seeking a high-temperature and pain management solution.
What strength is Nurofen Plus?
Each tablet contains ibuprofen 200.0 mg and codeine phosphate hemihydrate 12.8 mg.
