Cream, ointment, barrier cream or bath additive?
Zerodermas products comes in 4 different types. They are all similar in the sense that they are emollients, but the composition and consistency will vary. In general, they all are effective for treating dry, rough, or scaly skin.
Creams are a mixture of oil and water and are less greasy than ointments. They are easy to spread and can be easily absorbed by the skin.
Ointments are thicker and oilier than creams. They tend to be more effective at moisturizing the skin but can be more difficult to spread and can leave the skin greasier than when using a cream.
Barrier creams are thicker than creams and ointments and are designed to create a protective barrier on the skin to prevent water loss and reduce the risk of skin irritation.
Bath additives can be added to the bath water and leaves a moisturizing film on the skin once it has been gently dried.
