Electronic Private Prescription ID

What is it?

An Electronic Private Prescription ID is a unique code issued by your healthcare provider, allowing you to fill your prescription digitally without the need for a physical paper copy. This ID typically consists of a combination of letters and numbers (e.g., SRX03D113B5278A) and is a widely accepted solution in the UK for faster and safer prescription handling.

How does it work?

When your prescription is issued electronically, your healthcare provider sends you a Private Prescription ID via secure email or text. You can then use this code to order your medication from an online pharmacy like Medino, or any other participating pharmacy. This system ensures your prescription is securely processed, adhering to UK regulations.

Several UK-based online services such as SignatureRx and Doctor Care Anywhere offer platforms that support the secure issuing and handling of Electronic Private Prescriptions, relying on advanced electronic signatures to maintain the integrity of the prescription.

For more information about the Private Prescription ID, please contact our pharmacist at pharmacy@medino.com.
