Description
Benylin Cold & Flu Max Strength Capsules relieve the symptoms of cold and flu, including headache, fever, nasal congestion, fatigue, drowsiness and aches and pains.
Benylin Cold & Flu Max Strength Capsules contain three active ingredients:
Paracetamol: A painkiller that also reduces fever.
Caffeine: A stimulant to help combat the tiredness and fatigues associated with colds and flu. It also helps increase the pain relief.
Phenylephedrine: A decongestant to relieve nasal congestion.
Ingredients
Paracetamol 500mg, Caffeine 25mg and Phenylephrine Hydrochloride 6.1mg
Usage and Instructions
Adults, elderly and children aged 16 years and over:
Take 2 capsules every 4 to 6 hours when necessary to a maximum of 8 capsules (4 doses) in 24 hours. Leave at least 4 to 6 hours between doses.
Do not take more than 8 capsules (4 doses) in any 24 hours.
Warnings
Not to be given to children under 16 years.
Do not take for longer than 3 days.
Do not exceed the reccomended dose.
Do not take if you are allergic to any of the ingredient.
Do not take if you have hepatic or severe renal impairment, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, heart disease or taking tricyclic antidepressants
or beta-blocking drugs and do not take if you are taking or have taken, within the last two weeks, monoamine oxidase inhibitors
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicine, particularly metoclopramide or domperidone, cholestyramine, anti-coagulants.

Side Effects
Skin rashes and other allergic effects can occur with paracetamol.
Raised blood pressure, headache, dizziness, upset stomach, difficulty in sleeping and palpitations may occur with phenylephrine.
An high caffeine intake can cause difficulty sleeping, shaking and an uncomfortable feeling in the chest.
