What symptoms can be treated with Calgel Teething Gel?
Calgel Teething Gel is specifically formulated to alleviate pain and discomfort associated with teething in infants. It can help soothe sore gums, reduce inflammation, and provide relief from irritability caused by emerging teeth.
What are the benefits of using Calgel Teething Gel?
The primary benefits of Calgel Teething Gel include quick pain relief, reduced gum inflammation, and the prevention of potential infections. It helps calm fussy babies, making it easier for them to eat, sleep, and feel more comfortable during the teething process.
How does Calgel Teething Gel work?
Calgel works through its dual-action formula. The lidocaine hydrochloride acts as a local anaesthetic, numbing the affected area to provide pain relief. Meanwhile, the cetylpyridinium chloride serves as an antiseptic, helping to prevent infections in sore or broken gum tissue.
Does Calgel Teething Gel contain any common allergens?
Calgel Teething Gel doesn't contain common allergens like nuts or dairy. However, it does contain sorbitol and ethanol, which some individuals may be sensitive to. Always check the full ingredient list and consult with a healthcare professional if you have concerns about allergies.
How long does the numbing effect of Calgel last?
The numbing effect of Calgel typically lasts for about 20-30 minutes. However, the duration can vary depending on the individual baby and the severity of teething discomfort. If needed, you can reapply the gel after 3 hours, up to a maximum of 6 times in 24 hours.
Can Calgel Teething Gel be used alongside other teething remedies?
Yes, Calgel can be used in conjunction with other teething remedies like teething rings or cold compresses. It's also safe to use alongside Calpol Infant Suspension if additional pain or fever relief is needed. However, always follow the recommended dosages and consult your healthcare provider if you're unsure about combining treatments.
At what age can babies start using Calgel Teething Gel?
Calgel Teething Gel is suitable for babies from 5 months of age. It's important to adhere to this age recommendation, as younger infants may be more sensitive to the active ingredients. If your baby is younger than 5 months and experiencing teething discomfort, consult your paediatrician for appropriate alternatives.
