The typical signs and symptoms of athlete's foot include scaly, peeling or cracked skin between the toes, itchiness, especially right after taking off shoes and socks, inflamed skin that might appear reddish, purplish or greyish, depending on your skin colour, burning or stinging, blisters, and dry, scaly skin on the bottom of the foot that extends up the side. If left untreated, athlete's foot can spread to other parts of the body and cause more serious infections. It is important to seek medical attention if you suspect you have athlete's foot.
What causes athlete's foot?
Athlete's foot is caused by a fungal skin infection known as tinea pedis. This infection typically begins between the toes and is more common in people whose feet have become very sweaty while wearing tight-fitting shoes
How long should I use Daktarin Aktiv Cream?
You should continue treatment for 7 days after all the symptoms have cleared to prevent them from coming back. If symptoms persist, talk to your doctor.
How can I prevent re-infection of Athlete's Foot?
To prevent re-infection, you should spray inside your shoes and socks with fungicidal powder before putting them on, avoid wearing the same pair of shoes every day, choose cotton socks and leather shoes which allow your feet to breathe, avoid sharing towels or footwear, avoid walking barefoot in changing rooms, dry thoroughly between your toes, and keep toenails short as this reduces the number of places fungi can grow.

Usage and Instructions
Apply to skin and nails only.
Skin infections:
Apply to affected area twice daily. Continue treatment for 7 days after symptoms have cleared to prevent them coming back.
Nail infections:
Apply to affected area once or twice daily. Continue treatment for 10 days after symptoms have cleared to prevent them coming back.
