There are two types of active ingredients in Dermol 200 Shower Emollient: benzalkonium chloride and chlorhexidine dihydrochloride, which are antimicrobials, and liquid paraffin and isopropyl myristate, which are emollients. Does Dermol contain steroids?
Dermol does not contain any steroids. Dermol is a range of non-steroid, emollient-based products specifically formulated for dry, itchy and sensitive skin. Instead, Dermol is made up of ingredients that work as a moisturiser and help to restore your skin's natural barrier function.
Usage and Instructions
For best results, you should use this product on a regular basis and whenever you shower.
You can use the emollient to wash with instead of ordinary soap or shower gel. It will not foam or lather like ordinary cosmetic products. After washing or showering, pat the skin dry with a soft towel (avoid rubbing as this can make dry skin conditions worse).
Or you can apply it to affected areas after your shower and gently smooth into the skin. If necessary, allow time for any excess to soak in. Do not rub the skin vigorously. Reapply as often as required.
If you are applying another treatment to the same areas of skin, try to avoid mixing the two products by applying the treatments alternately, leaving sufficient time to allow the previous application to soak in.
Warnings
Do not use Dermol 500 Lotion if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if you have a very sensitive skin.
Avoid getting it in the eyes, especially when using it on the face.
Side Effects
Dermol 500 Lotion contains cetostearyl alcohol. This ingredient may cause local skin reactions (eg contact dermatitis) in a small number of sensitive people. If you are sensitive to cetostearyl alcohol, talk to your doctor before using this product.
