Epaderm Ointment 500g is an emollient ointment for dry skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. It is made with yellow soft paraffin, liquid paraffin and emulsifying wax, with no added fragrance or colouring. The same ointment can be used as a moisturiser, a soap substitute or a bath additive, so one tub covers several parts of a skin care routine.

Ingredients
Ingredients: Cetomacrogol emulsifying wax BP (contains cetostearyl alcohol and macrogol cetostearyl ether 22), yellow soft paraffin BP, liquid paraffin Ph. Eur.

Usage and Instructions
For external use only. The directions are the same for all ages.
- As a moisturiser: Apply daily as needed to dry areas and massage into the skin until fully absorbed.
- As a skin cleanser: Use in place of soap or shower gel. Lather a small amount in your hands, apply to the skin, then rinse off fully.
- As a bath additive: Dissolve about 4g in hot water and let it cool slightly before adding it to the bath.
Warnings
Read these before using Epaderm Ointment:
- Fire hazard: paraffin can make clothing, bedding, dressings and other fabric that has touched the ointment burn more easily. Keep away from naked flames, do not smoke, and change these fabrics regularly.
- Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
- Do not use on broken, infected or inflamed skin.
- Avoid contact with the eyes and the inside of the nose.
- For external use only.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask a doctor or pharmacist for advice before use.
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Side Effects
Side effects are uncommon or rare. They may include:
- An allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, a sudden red itchy skin rash, wheezing, or feeling faint or dizzy.
- Redness or irritation where the ointment is applied, which usually only happens with excess use in skin folds.
If you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, seek emergency medical attention.
