Otrivine Congestion Relief 0.1% Nasal Spray is applied in the nose to relieve nasal congestion, perennial and allergic rhinitis, and sinusitis. The active ingredient in Otrivine Congestion Relief 0.1% Nasal Spray is xylometazoline hydrochloride. It works by reducing excessive nasal secretions and returning swollen blood vessels in the nasal passages to their normal size, effectively alleviating nasal congestion, perennial and allergic rhinitis, and sinusitis.

Usage and Instructions
Dosage for Adults and Children over 12 years:
One application in each nostril 2 or 3 times daily.
Not suitable for infants or children under 12 years.
Do not use for more than 7 consecutive days.
Warnings
Not suitable for infants or children under 12 years.
For reasons of hygiene do not use this bottle more than 28 days after first opening it.
Each Otrivine pack should be used by one person only to prevent any cross infection. Do not use after the expiry date given.
Keep all medicines out of the sight and reach of children.
If you are pregnant or taking other medicines or are under a doctor's care consult your doctor before using Otrivine.
Do not use continuously for more than seven consecutive days. If symptoms persist consult your doctor.
Do not exceed the stated dose.
Sealed cap. Do not use if seal is absent or broken.
Side Effects
Common side effects include:
- Burning sensation in the nose or throat.
- Irritation of the nasal lining (eg stinging, itching or soreness).
- Dryness of the nasal lining.
- Headache.
- Feeling sick.
