What should I do if my symptoms worsen or do not improve after 3 days?
You must contact a doctor if you or your child's symptoms worsen or do not improve after 3 days.
What is Paracetamol and how does it work?
Paracetamol, also known as acetaminophen, is a commonly used analgesic and antipyretic drug that can temporarily alleviate mild-to-moderate pain and fever. It can be found in cold and flu medications as an ingredient or can be used on its own. Paracetamol works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, which are chemicals that cause pain and fever in the body.
Can Paracetamol Oral Suspension interact with other medicines?
Yes, Paracetamol Oral Suspension can interfere with the action of some other drugs and some drugs can have an effect on paracetamol. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you or your child is taking any other medicines including herbal medicines and those you have bought yourself. The drugs which can cause some problems when taken together with paracetamol are cholestyramine, warfarin, domperidone and metoclopramide, and anticonvulsants.
What should I do if I give more Paracetamol Oral Suspension than I should?
If you accidentally take or give an overdose of this medicine, either call your doctor straight away or go to your nearest hospital casualty department. Always take any remaining medicine, the container and the label with you, so that the medicine can be identified. Talk to a doctor at once if your child takes too much of this medicine even if they seem well. This is because too much paracetamol can cause delayed, serious liver damage. There may be no symptoms during the first 24 hours although loss of colour, feeling sick, vomiting and abdominal pain may occur.

Side Effects
In the event of any of the following occurrences, STOP administering Paracetamol oral suspension and promptly inform your physician or proceed to the emergency department of the nearest hospital:
Allergic reactions, characterized by facial, tongue, or throat swelling, difficulty swallowing, inexplicable wheezing, and shortness of breath, possibly accompanied by a skin rash or hives.
Feeling unusually tired, getting unexpected bruises or bleeding, and being more prone to infections (like colds) are very rare side effects of using paracetamol.
It is very rare to experience serious skin reactions, but if you notice redness, blisters, or a rash on your skin, stop using the medication immediately and seek medical help right away. If you had skin problems before using the medication and they get worse, stop using it and see a doctor.
Long-term use:
If you use paracetamol-containing medicines daily for an extended period (several months or more), you might experience some side effects such as liver or kidney damage. However, those who take paracetamol as directed for shorter periods have not encountered these issues, although their liver function tests may be impacted.
