Pepto-Bismol Liquid Suspension provides fast, effective relief from heartburn, indigestion, nausea and upset stomachs and also controls diarrhoea.

The active ingredient is bismuth subsalicylate, which works by forming a soothing, protective coating over your stomach and intestine providing a soothing relief that way.

Active Ingredient: Bismuth Subsalicylate 526mg per 30ml dose.

Other Ingredients: Aluminium Magnesium Silicate, Methylcellulose, Methyl Salicylate, Salicylic Acid, Sorbic Acid, Benzoic Acid, Saccharin Sodium Salicylate, Amaranth and Water.

Adults and children over 16 years only:

Shake the bottle well before use.

For oral use only.

Pour 30ml (one dose) into the cup provided and swallow.

Repeat the dose every 30-60 minutes if needed.

Do not take more that 8 doses in 24 hours.

If you have diarrhoea, it is important to treat or prevent dehydration by drinking plenty of fluids or taking oral rehydration products, especially if you are frail or elderly.

Do not use Pepto-Bismol Liquid Suspension if you are:

Under 16 years of age.

Allergic to salicylates, including aspirin or any of the other ingredients.

Taking other salicylates, including aspirin.

Pregnant or breastfeeding.

__Ask a doctor before taking Pepto-Bismol Liquid Suspension if you are taking tetracycline antibiotics or medicines for:

-Thinning the blood (anticoagulants).
-Diabetes.
-Gout.

The following are some of the side effects that are known to be associated with Pepto-bismol. Just because a side effect is stated here doesn't mean that all people using this medicine will experience that or any side effect:

• Blackening of your poo (very common) or blackening of your tongue (common). This is normal and nothing to worry about and will go away when you stop treatment.
