Pollenase Cetirizine Hay fever Relief Tablets are used to treat the symptoms of hay fever (itchy or watery eyes, sneezing and a runny nose) and other allergies e.g. pet, house dust mite and mould spore allergies.

Pollenase tablets can also be used to relieve the rashes and itching of hives. The active ingredient is cetirizine hydrochloride, an antihistamine which can help to relieve the symptoms of some allergies and itchy skin rashes.

Pollenase Cetirizine 10mg 30 Tablets works by blocking the effects of histamine, a chemical produced by the body during an allergic reaction. This helps to reduce the symptoms associated with allergies, allowing you to get on with your day without the constant discomfort and disruption caused by sneezing, itching, and other symptoms.

How quickly do Pollenase Cetirizine 10mg 30 Tablets work?

You should start to feel better within an hour of taking Hay fever Relief Cetirizine Tablets. The duration of use will depend on your individual needs and the severity of your symptoms. For example, if you have a reaction to an insect bite, you may only need to take cetirizine for a day or two. For hay fever, you may need to take it when the pollen count is high.

Is it safe to take Pollenase Cetirizine 10mg 30 Tablets for a long time?

It's safe to take cetirizine for a long time. However, it's best to take it only for as long as you need to. If you've been taking cetirizine every day for a long time, talk to your doctor before stopping it.

Can you drink alcohol while taking Pollenase Cetirizine 10mg 30 Tablets?

It's best not to drink alcohol while you're taking cetirizine as it can make you feel sleepy. You can otherwise eat and drink normally while taking cetirizine.

Can I take Pollenase Cetirizine 10mg 30 Tablets with painkillers?

Yes, you can take hay fever relief cetirizine tablets together with paracetamol or ibuprofen.

Can I take Pollenase Cetirizine 10mg 30 Tablets with other hay fever treatments?

Yes, it's fine to take hay fever relief cetirizine tablets together with some other hay fever treatments – for example, steroid nasal sprays or eye drops.

Each Pollenase tablet contains 10mg of the active ingredient Cetirizine.

Adults and children aged 12 years and over:

Adults and children over 12 years old should take one Pollenase tablet once a day to relieve hay fever and other allergy symptoms.

Children aged 6 to 12 years:

The dosage of Pollenase for children between the ages of 6 and 12 years is half a tablet twice a day.

Children under 6 years:

Pollenase isn’t recommended for children under 6 years of age. See the enclosed leaflet for further advice.

Do not exceed the stated dose when taking Pollenase. If symptoms persist whilst taking this medication, consult your doctor.

These tablets should always be kept out of sight and reach of children.

Do Pollenase tablets cause drowsiness?

Taking Pollenase Cetirizine 10mg 30 Tablets may cause drowsiness. If affected do not drive or operate machinery. You should also avoid drinking alcohol when taking Pollenase cetirizine tablets.

Can you take Pollenase tablets when pregnant or breastfeeding?

Pollenase Cetirizine 10mg 30 Tablets are not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women. You should consult your doctor before taking Pollenase if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Very rarely, Pollenase tablets may cause convulsions. If this happens to you, stop taking these tablets and tell your doctor. If you notice any side effects not mentioned in the leaflet, please inform your doctor or pharmacist.
