What is the active ingredient and how does it work?

The active ingredient in Polytar Scalp Shampoo is coal tar solution at a concentration of 4%. Coal tar, a thick and heavy oil, alleviates symptoms of scalp conditions by reducing inflammation, itchiness, and the formation of scales.

Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Disodium phosphate dehydrate, Citric Acid Monohydrate Benzyl Alcohol, Macrogol 150 Distearate, Hexylene Glycol, Oleyl Alcohol, Polyquaternuim 10, Fruiter Timotei Fragrance, Purified Water.

Wet your hair and apply the shampoo to your scalp, gently massaging in to produce a rich lather.

Rinse away the lather, then repeat. With both applications, the total leave on time for the shampoo should be about 3-5 minutes.

Use this product once or twice a week to regulate your scalp health.

After 4 weeks, you should see your condition improve and no longer need to use this medicated shampoo. If your symptoms don't improve, speak to your doctor for an alternative treatment.
