Warnings
- Priligy is specifically designed for men diagnosed with Premature Ejaculation (PE).
- If you haven't been diagnosed with PE, Priligy may not be suitable for you, as its safety and effectiveness for other conditions haven't been confirmed.
- Before using Priligy, it's important to discuss any other sexual dysfunctions you might have, especially erectile dysfunction, particularly if you're taking PDE5 inhibitors.
- Your doctor will perform a medical exam, including an orthostatic test (checking your blood pressure and pulse when lying down and standing), to ensure Priligy is safe for you, especially to assess the risk of orthostatic hypotension (sudden drop in blood pressure upon standing).
- Be cautious of symptoms like dizziness or lightheadedness that can lead to fainting (syncope), and take steps to prevent falls or injuries.
- Priligy should be avoided if you have a history of mania/hypomania, bipolar disorder, or seizures.
- Do not use Priligy with recreational drugs, particularly those affecting serotonin levels or those with sedative effects, as this can lead to serious side effects.
- Avoid alcohol while taking Priligy, as it can increase the risk of side effects like fainting and dizziness.
- If you're taking medications for blood pressure, or you're on moderate CYP3A4 inhibitors or potent CYP2D6 inhibitors, let your doctor know, as Priligy may not be recommended.
- If you have cardiovascular conditions or severe kidney issues, Priligy may not be suitable for you.
- There's a cautionary note regarding antidepressants and suicidal thoughts in young people; however, Priligy hasn't shown to increase this risk in its trials.
- Stopping Priligy suddenly can lead to withdrawal symptoms; it's best to consult your doctor before making any changes to how you take it.
- Some people have reported eye effects like pupil dilation and eye pain with Priligy; if you have glaucoma or high eye pressure, discuss this with your doctor.
- If you have a rare hereditary problem with galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption, Priligy may not be suitable for you.
- Priligy is considered 'sodium-free', with less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) per tablet.
