When we founded OrganiCup in 2012, talking about periods seemed like one of the most uncomfortable things, you could possibly talk about. We saw an opportunity with OrganiCup and our community to pave the way towards a more normalized relationship with periods by simply showing menstrual cups and periods for what they are - not as anything else. That same strain of thought made us think about why no period innovations had happened in over 50 years when half the population on earth have periods for a large part of their lives. This was kind of mind-boggling to us when you consider the amount of waste that is created each month by disposable period products, the chemicals they contain that we put inside our bodies and that pollute our planet, and all the girls around the world, not just in developing countries, that stay away from school because they can’t afford period products or because they are ashamed of their period. We wanted to change that so we’re on a journey to change the way periods affect our lives, our bodies and our environment.

Being environmentally friendly and using natural and safe ingredients to gently protect you during your period are at the forefront of the OrganiCup brand and is what differentiates us the most. Furthermore, our packaging is made of recycled carton, instructions are printed on the inside to eliminate additional waste and the storage bag is made of unbleached, organic cotton. The OrganiCup is made from pure medical-grade silicone and is FDA-approved, registered with The Vegan Society, and, as the only menstrual cup on the market, certified with the organisation AllergyCertified ensuring that no allergens are in the menstrual cup.
