Combat head lice, pubic lice, and scabies effectively with Derbac-M Liquid, a trusted and gentle treatment suitable for children as young as six months old. This water-based, alcohol-free formula ensures it is ideal for individuals with asthma or sensitive skin. The active ingredient, malathion (0.5% w/w), is a powerful insecticide that has been used since the 1960s to eliminate parasites by disrupting their metabolic processes.

Derbac-M Liquid's mechanism of action involves attaching malathion to a chemical in the lice or mite's nervous system, causing it to collapse and ultimately resulting in the parasite's death. This treatment is recommended for adults, the elderly, and children aged six months and above. However, for infants under six months, it is advised to use Derbac-M Liquid under medical supervision.

Active Ingredient: Malathion 0.5% w/w. Other Ingredients: Methyl Hydroxybenzoate (E218), Propyl Hydroxybenzoate (E216), Emulsifying Wax, Potassium Citrate, Citric Acid, Perfume HT 52 and Purified Water.

Dosage: Adults, the elderly and children over 6 months:

Head lice: Apply sufficient liquid to dry hair to ensure that no part of the scalp is left uncovered. Work into the hair spreading the liquid evenly from the roots to the tips. Leave the hair to dry naturally in a warm but well ventilated room. After 12 hours, or the next day if preferred, shampoo the hair in the normal way. Rinse the hair and comb while wet to remove dead lice and eggs (nits) using comb provided. Repeat treatment after 7 days.

Pubic lice: Apply liquid to entire skin surface paying particular attention to all hairy areas including beards and moustaches. Avoid any other areas above the neck. Leave on for at least one hour, but preferably overnight, before washing off. Treatment should be repeated after 7 days.

Scabies: Apply the liquid to the entire skin surface. In adults it may not be necessary to apply above the neck but children under the age of 2 years should have a thin film of the liquid applied to the scalp, face and ears, avoiding the eyes and mouth. Do not wash off or bathe for 24 hours. If hands or any other parts must be washed during this period the treatment must be re-applied to those areas immediately. Treatment should be repeated after 7 days.

Not to be used more than once a week and for more than three consecutive weeks. Family members and close contacts should be treated simultaneously. Under 6 months: under medical supervision only.

Not suitable for use on children under the age of 6 months.

Possible side effects:

• Skin irritation.
• Allergic reactions such as swelling of the face, throat or tongue (angioedema), swollen eyes or anaphylaxis. Get immediate medical advice if you think you have had an allergic reaction to the liquid.
