Lactulose Oral solution sachets contains 10 oral solution sachets for the treatment of the symptoms of constipation.

Lactulose helps to soften stools by absorbing water. This makes passing stools more comfortable if the stools are hard or impacted.

One sachet (15ml) contains:

10g Luctulose (as lactulose liquid)

Contains small amounts of sugars (e.g. lactose, glalctose, spilactose).

This medicine may be taken as a single daily dose or in 2-3 divided doses.

The medicine should be swallowed quickly and not kept in the mouth. It may be taken undiluted or diluted in some liquid (i.e a drink). Partially used sachets should be thrown away.

Adults and children over 14 years:

Starting dose - 1 to 3 sachets daily. Maintenance dose - 1 to 2 sachets daily

Children 7-14 years:

Starting dose - 1 sachet daily. Maintenance dose - 1 sachet daily

Children 6 years and under:

Do not give this medicine unless recommended by your doctor. Your doctor will advise how much medicine to give.

Very common(More than 1 in 10 people): Flatulence - this may happen within the first few days of treatment with Lactulose Stomach pain - this may occur if Lactulose is taken at a high dose. Seek medical advice if you have stomach pain.

Common (More than 1 in 100 people): diarrhoea which may lead to metabolic problems - this may occur if Lactulose is taken at a high dose. Seek medical advice if you have diarrhoea.
