Usage and Instructions

Constipation:
Adults, adolescents and elderly: Take 2 sachets 1-3 times a day depending on the severity. Extended use: 2-4 sachets per day.
Faecal Impaction:
Adults, adolescents and elderly: 16 sachets daily, all of which should be consumed within a 6 hour period.
Each sachet is dissolved in 62.5 ml (1/4 glassful) of water. For convenience, 16 sachets can be dissolved in 1 litre of water to be taken within a 6-hour period.

This medicine is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
Side Effects
Look out for side effects like stomach aches, rumbles, bloating, wind, feeling sick or vomiting, soreness of the anus (bottom) and mild diarrhoea. If you have any of these symptoms when starting to take Movicol half sachets, we'd recommend reducing the dosage.
