What conditions can be treated with Movicol Plain?
Movicol Plain is primarily used to treat chronic constipation and faecal impaction. It can help relieve symptoms such as infrequent bowel movements, hard stools, straining during defecation, and abdominal discomfort associated with constipation.
What are the benefits of using Movicol Plain?
The main benefits of Movicol Plain include its ability to soften stools, increase bowel movements, and relieve constipation without causing cramping or sudden urgency. It's also suitable for long-term use and doesn't cause dependency like some other laxatives.
How does Movicol Plain work?
Movicol Plain works by drawing water into the bowel through osmosis. This increases the water content of the stools, making them softer and easier to pass. The added electrolytes help maintain the body's fluid balance during treatment.

Can Movicol be used during pregnancy?
